MY SIZE IS UNAVAILABLE, WHAT CAN I DO?

Since we started 8 years ago, we have always strived to be out of stock less often, but it is sometimes complicated, because we try at all costs to avoid overproduction. And it is not easy to perfectly quantify what the exact demand will be on which product… So, yes, sometimes we are sad not to have judged the success of a product, but the essential is not to spoil and sell everything we produce, even if we could miss sales.

WHEN YOU SAY "ECO-FRIENDLY MATERIALS", WHAT DO YOU MEAN EXACTLY?

At Ultra Tee, we start by looking at the ecological impact of the materials we are going to use. Did they need a lot of water to produce them? - we don't like that! - Do they have too high carbon footprint? - we absolutely hate it! - Did they generate a large amount of waste? – no way! So how do we do it in practice? We focus on strength and durability, price, environmental impact and the quality of the feel and finish. At the end, we choose materials including organic cotton, certified fabrics and recycled materials.

EXPLAIN TO ME THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORGANIC COTTON AND CONVENTIONAL COTTON?

Cotton is a natural fiber, almost made up of pure cellulose, generally transformed into thread which is woven to make fabrics. Since the 19th century, cotton has been the first textile fiber in the world, accounting for almost half of world consumption. Unfortunately, it is the most harmful material for the environment, because it needs a lot of water and to produce it, you need a maximum of pesticides. Not to mention, greenhouse gas emissions to transport it from where it is produced - tropical regions - to where it is processed - here! So, at Ultra Tee, we mainly use organic cotton from certified suppliers who use less pesticides and thus limit their impact on the environment. Almost all of the t-shirts and sweatshirts in our collections are made from organic cotton. For the moment, organic cotton is the best possible substitute for conventional cotton.

CONCRETELY, WHAT DO YOU DO TO FIGHT AGAINST THE HARMFULNESS OF FASHION?

At Ultra Tee, we have made the fight for the environment and raising public awareness of protecting the planet a top priority from the start. Since 2012, we use eco-friendly materials for our collections, we donate € 1 to the Plant-for-the-Planet organization for each product sold - equivalent to a planted tree - and we support the Royal Trinity Hospice in London by donating our products to their charity stores to raise enough funds to help their cause.
We also recycle t-shirts, sweatshirts in decorative cushions, pillowcases and storage pockets, which allows us to further reduce our ecological footprint. Our commitments are as follows: increase materials with a low environmental footprint, the use of certified organic cotton and the recycling of damaged articles and packages.

CAN A CLOTHING BRAND BE 100% SUSTAINABLE?

It depends on what you mean by 100% sustainable, because it is difficult to produce clothes without any pollution created, no CO2 emissions generated and without consuming a single drop of water ...!
It's all about balance and finding the least bad solution.
Both conventional and organic cotton are renewable, while the production of synthetic fibers is not and generates waste. So already, from this comparative angle, a net ecological benefit is noted. Not to mention the fact that synthetic fibers are non-biodegradable, also generating CO2 emissions at the end of their life cycle during incineration.
This is why Ultra Tee focuses on manufacturing products that are developed along a production chain that is as sustainable as possible. We do our best to provide you with the highest quality and durable products using only the best ecological fabrics and honestly choosing the best suppliers and factories.

WHERE ARE YOUR PRODUCTS MADE?

Most of our collections are made in Europe but a small part is made in other sites around the world, depending on the season, what we are offered in terms of raw materials and prices, knowing that production capacity, local know-how and supplier expertise are all elements to consider.

HOW ABOUT WORKING CONDITIONS IN FACTORIES OUTSIDE EUROPE WHERE ULTRA TEE PRODUCTS ARE MADE?

We collaborate with suppliers audited by the Fair Wear Foundation which guarantees adequate conditions in terms of work, health and safety, as well as by prohibiting any form of child labour, forced labour or illegal employment.

AND WHAT ABOUT YOUR PACKAGING: RECYCLABLE OR NOT?

We use boxes made from recycled materials. And when we can, we don't hesitate to replace our boxes with lighter and more ergonomic biodegradable plastic envelopes. And of course, we’ve also eliminated all the plastic bags!

HOW CAN I RECYCLE MY ULTRA TEE T-SHIRTS?

If they are in good condition, you can still sell them on marketplaces such as Vinted, eBay, and many others. But why not donate your clothes to the Royal Trinity Hospice, with which we have been collaborating for several years, or to any other association that will sell them in their charity stores to raise funds to serve their causes.

CAN I RECYCLE THE ULTRA TEE PACKAGING BOXES I RECEIVE?

Yes, because they are made of recyclable cardboard, and if it is a biodegradable plastic envelope you can dispose of it in the appropriate sorting bin.
